(Lee Luke Collection)

This is the Wehrpass of Karl Scholz who was a member of SS-Pz. Jg. Ausb. Abt. (mot) 2. This unit was a motorised anti-tank unit that fought in both Nijmegen and Oosterbeek. He had a very interesting career but was killed in Oosterbeek during the fighting in Sept. 1944.. The Wehrpass was always stored with the administration section of his unit which was located in Hilversum. I have included a number of his pages from his Wehrpass (scroll down for more pages). Thank you to Lee Luke for allowing me to show his wehrpass of Karl Scholz on my site.

Pages 2 & 3 - His personal details and identification photo.

Page 12 & 13 - Lists all the units Karl Scholz was posted to with corresponding dates during the war. Notes his career was mostly with Anti-Tank units within the SS from 1940.

Page 32 & 33- His career in detail. It lists the different actions and engagements he was involved in. Note on page 33 he was on Security duties (Sicherungs) in the Netherlands from 1942 - 1944. The last entry shows he was involved in 'The destruction of the 1st British Air Landed Divison' in and around Arnhem between 17th - 22nd September 1944.

Page 34 - lists the different wounds or illnesses this soldier suffered during his career. You can see that he was in hospital in Warsaw and Vienna from May 1942 - Aug 1942 but the most intersting but sad entry is the last. It shows that this soldier fell during the Battle of Arnhem in Oosterbeek on the 22nd September 1944.
